Daily Vector — Privacy Policy

Daily Vector ("the App") is developed by MachF5ve Studios. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how it's used, and how you can control it.

1. What Data We Collect

Daily Vector collects and stores the following information:

• Your name — provided during onboarding so Vector can address you personally.
• Profile answers — your responses to the Quick, Standard, or Deep profile questionnaires. These help Vector personalize journal reflections and advice.
• Journal entries — the text you write in your journal. These are stored locally on your device.
• Ask Vector conversations — questions you ask Vector and his responses, if you choose to save them to your journal.
• Exploration history — Look Back, Look Forward, and Explore Deeper explorations you've completed.
• App preferences — notification settings, subscription status, and profile photo (stored locally).

2. Where Your Data Is Stored

All of your personal data — journal entries, profile answers, saved conversations, and exploration history — is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. We do not have a server or database that stores your personal information. If you delete the app or clear its data, your information is permanently removed.

3. AI Processing

Daily Vector uses a third-party AI service (Groq API with the Llama language model) to generate journal reflections, answer your questions, and create path explorations. When you use these features:

• Your journal entries, profile information, and questions are sent to the Groq API for processing.
• This data is transmitted securely over HTTPS.
• Groq processes the data to generate Vector's responses and does not store your personal data beyond the duration of the API request.
• We do not use your data to train AI models.

Features that use AI processing include: daily and biweekly journal reflections, Ask Vector conversations, Explore This Deeper follow-ups, Look Back explorations, and Look Forward path explorations.

4. What We Don't Collect

Daily Vector does not collect:

• Your email address, phone number, or any account credentials (no account creation is required).
• Your location data.
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs.
• Usage analytics or behavioral tracking data.
• Any data from other apps on your device.

Daily Vector contains no advertising and no third-party tracking. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Notifications

If you enable notifications, Daily Vector may send you local reminders (such as a 3-day inactivity reminder) to encourage journaling. These notifications are generated entirely on your device — no data is sent to any server to trigger them. You can disable notifications at any time in the App's Profile > Notifications settings or in your device's system settings.

6. Photos

If you choose to add a profile photo, the image is stored locally on your device. It is never uploaded to any server or shared with any third party.

7. Subscriptions & Payments

Daily Vector offers optional premium features through in-app purchases managed by the Google Play Store. All payment processing is handled by Google. We do not have access to your payment information, credit card details, or billing address.

8. Children's Privacy

Daily Vector is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over your data at all times:

• Delete individual entries from within the Journal screen.
• Clear all data by using the "Log Out" option in the Profile screen, which removes all locally stored data.
• Uninstall the app to permanently delete all data associated with Daily Vector.

10. Third-Party Services

Daily Vector uses the following third-party services:

• Groq API — for AI-powered journal reflections, advice, and path explorations.
• Google Play Store — for app distribution and in-app purchase processing.
• Expo / React Native — the framework used to build the app.

No other third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services are used.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
